Meet Miss Tenney
Maren Tenney holds Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Fine Arts degrees in vocal performance from the University of Utah. She has taught voice privately in Salt Lake City for over twenty years.
She is an active advocate in the community for Arts education. She has been a member of the National Teachers of Singing, National Federation of Music Clubs, and the American Orff-Schulwerk Association. As an affiliate of NATS and NFMC, she has chaired and adjudicated numerous auditions and competitions, serving elementary, middle, high school, and college-age students. She holds a Level I certification in Orff Schulwerk, an approach for teaching Music to young children Maren is a passionate educator, receiving her MAEd in Special Education in 2010. She has worked as a teacher for Granite School District for thirteen years. Currently, she works for the GSD Curriculum and Development department as a Beverly Taylor Sorenson Visiting Artist, writing, presenting, and coaching for integrated arts education. Other teaching credits include Utah Dance Center, Salt Lake School for the Performing Arts, and Salt Lake Arts Academy. |
